WASHINGTON: New research from the Quinney College of Natural Resources indicates that grass plays a crucial role in carbon capture —which is a critical factor in climate change. According to their findings, grass accounted for more than half of the soil carbon content in tropical savannas, including soils directly beneath trees. This emphasises the important role grass has in carbon storage in the savanaas.
